1044: DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for our Chicago Office. We have a collaborative culture and look to hire exceptional people. You would work with our team to operate and optimize the day-to-day operations of our trading system. The expectation is that you would develop tools and processes responsible for improving, building, deploying, managing and monitoring a 23/6 high-frequency trading system.

Responsibilities:

Day to Day Operations

Automate starting, monitoring, shutting down, restoring trading systems and software

Collaborate with traders and developers on optimizations and configurations

Development

Python development is required

Design, develop and deploy pipelines for current and future data, trading, and operation processes

Work across all types of domains related to revenue

Cluster, Production Trading, Distributed Risk

Real-time support for our proprietary trading systems

Create real-time, monitoring systems

Work with traders to diagnose and correct technical issues

Develop and extend debugging and automation tool chains

Formulate procedures to increase system reliability and uptime

Coordinate with developers and trading teams to deliver defect fixes

Work with developers and trading teams to drive the development and deployment of new features

Requirements:

Proprietary trading industry experience

Python programming, shell scripting

Technologies (Required): Experience with a configuration management tool suite (we use Ansible). Experience with software version control (we use git). Experience/understanding of network programming (TCP, UDP multicast) and configuration (linux)

Technologies (Not Required): C++, webapp development (javascript, Django, etc), database NoSQL and SQL (redis, postgres)

Able to address production issues/outages quickly, weigh impact, and take actions to address to minimize further downtime, interruption, and impact.

Able to plan and break down development work and assign to team members.
