Linux Systems Engineer
Chicago, IL

Our client is looking for a individual who is able to
function as a Linux Systems Engineer, independent enough to
troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues immediately. The
engineer is able to navigate through operational, risk and market
monitoring alerts with savvy communication skills to interact with
external entities and internal counterparts. The preference is for an
individual that has worked in a trading environment, is
fluent in scripting languages, and is able to solve technical
solutions.

Requirements:

Linux systems administration experience, with relevant, current knowledge.

Proficiency in SQL and Linux systems, with 3+ years of working experience

Systems Architecture – knowledge and experience with distributed systems

Software Architecture – knowledge and understanding of large code

maintenance and enhancement

Competence in Python, able to edit and create scripts, with 3+ years

of experience.

Applicable network knowledge, good working knowledge of TCP/IP

Prior trading-firm experience preferred

Experience developing solutions for execution systems

Experience delivering or deploying large-scale software in production

environments

Prior experience working in data center, and large infrastructure

Flexible to design technology solutions most suitable to each

individual situation

Computer science or similar background, with at least an undergraduate degree.

Highly analytical mindset

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Results oriented, highly flexible, team player
