Senior Software Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will champion the revitalization of our internal enterprise monitoring stack. Senior Software Engineer will dive deep into the current application, written in a combination of ruby, clojure, python, jruby, and javascript, and make recommendations for the future of the application.

Responsibilities:

Analyze current stack, and compare with popular third-party solutions (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Grafana Enterprise, Cortex, etc)

Meet with internal technical teams to determine usage patterns

Determine what functionality should remain, and what should be removed

De-escalate risk by bringing the dependencies to the latest versions

Requirements:

Experience with clojure is a plus

Experience with third-party monitoring tools Experience designing and developing software with ruby, python, and javascript.

Strong technical problem-solving skills

Strong UNIX/Linux skills

Must be self-motivated, possess strong initiative, and be willing to take on new challenges

Proven ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks and projects, and efficiently handle pressure and stress

Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to different work environments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills
